In less than three weeks, we will graduate with our bachelors. My sweet husband Scott Brent is getting his bachelors in mechanical engineering and I am getting my bachelors in nursing! Good-bye student life for me- HOORAY! And hello grad school in the fall for sweet Scott. He is going to George Mason University and studying electrical engineering with an emphasis in signal processing (he's a smarty pants, i know). In July I completed my associate degree and since August when I got my RN I have been working as a nurse. I now work for a home health company as a private duty nurse. I work night shifts in the home of a pediatric patient. It has been a challenging first job, but, I have learned a lot and am so grateful for the experiences I have gained.
In a little over four weeks, we move across the country... have we started packing? Well, we have done one box....one billion to go! Moving back to Northern Virgina is going to be bittersweet for me. I love Virginia- I love the history, the beautiful landscape, the summer sun, the girlies I grew up with and my family (I am a big time momma's girl. I call her at least once a day. Nbd.). But, Idaho is our home. We have made the most unforgettable friends and memories with them. Chandra and Schyler, Nycole and John, Rachel and Steven, Becca and Christian. Y'all are our people. These guys have taught me to see the glass have full rather than half empty. Instead of complaining about when things go wrong or what nifty toys or clothes they don't have, they talk about all of the good. They recognize God's hand on every turn. Whenever I leave their presence I feel uplifted. You all have helped me to be better. And don't even get me started on my amazing family out here. I have THE BEST in laws ever. See?
I feel like this is one of those those times in life that it is important to write about. The close of one chapter and the beginning of another. Scott and I have been so blessed. We have opportunities and are so excited for our next step. God is good. Life is great.
